We had hoped to make it to El Paso before stopping for the night but it was dark and we still had 200 miles to go so we diverted to Balmorhea State Park. The evening was cool and the stars bright. I never noticed that the Milky Way curved slightly in the middle. We went out to see the meteor shower but the sky was so bright with stars we didn't see any. Coyotes were singing that night and seemed very close.
